German trademark registration protects characters, letters, numbers, graphics, sound, stereo, etc. Trademarks cannot be protected without registration.
Trademark pattern
The drawings that you wish to protect must be provided at the time of application.
If the font in the text trademark is not common to the patent office, such as the trademark of graphical design, or the trademark of combination trademark and designated color, four drawings must be provided.
If color protection is required, the color must be indicated in the application.
Four identical plane drawings shall be submitted for the registration of three-dimensional trademarks. Up to six views (four each) from different angles of the trademark may be required.
Goods and services must be filled in in classification order; It is recommended to use the names in the nice classification alphabet. If not, you can also use the common name in the industry. German is required. If the interpretation of goods or services is required, the German Patent Office will notify the applicant for interpretation. Once the application is submitted, no more goods or services can be added, but it can be reduced at any time. The applicant may specify a priority category. If the cost is insufficient, such will be given priority.

Those who have a domicile or business place in Germany may, in principle, directly apply for registration at the patent office or the patent court. If not, anyone (even those with German nationality) must be represented by a patent agent or lawyer. A power of attorney needs to be signed without notarization.
