First, both sides have demonstrated their responsibility to safeguard multilateralism and free trade.

At a time when the world is full of uncertainty and instability and protectionism and unilateralism continue to rise, China and Germany need to strengthen strategic communication and cooperation and jointly deal with the common challenges facing mankind. Chancellor Merkel said that unilateralism and protectionism have also had an adverse impact on Germany. China also has the right to development and should not hinder China's development process. Germany is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with China in international affairs in the spirit of multilateralism and free trade.

Second, both sides reaffirmed the consensus of adhering to the concept of openness and inclusiveness and expanding two-way market opening.

The Chinese side reiterates that the direction of China's initiative to expand market opening will not change, and expanding opening up will do what it says. The Chinese market will become larger and larger, bringing more new opportunities to Germany and other countries in the world. Chancellor Merkel said that Germany welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in Germany and register German companies.

Third, the two sides reaffirmed the common will of China and Germany to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation.

Germany is China's largest economic and trade partner in Europe, and China has become Germany's largest trading partner for three consecutive years. During the visit, the two sides held a symposium of the China Germany Economic Advisory Committee and the 2019 meeting of the China Germany dialogue forum, and put forward cooperation suggestions in six areas. The two sides have broad prospects for cooperation in emerging fields such as new energy vehicles, intelligent manufacturing, artificial intelligence, digitization and 5g. It is believed that it will bring more visible and tangible benefits to the enterprises and people of the two countries.
