Professional Immigration Law takes effect on March 1 2020

What changes does the Professional Talent Migration Act bring?
It builds a framework for the targeted increase of qualified professionals from third countries and is suitable for German companies with huge and growing demand for personnel. The federal government estimates that the new regulations will introduce approximately 25,000 more professionals to Germany each year.
Who does this law apply to?
This law will simplify the immigration procedures for college graduates and those who have received qualified vocational training, including those from countries outside the European union who have completed qualified vocational training in Germany or have equivalent foreign vocational qualifications. This also applies to those who have a diploma from a German university, a diploma from a recognized foreign university, or a diploma from a foreign university equivalent to Germany.
The demand for professional labor in Germany is huge, and this demand is increasing with population changes. Especially in the MINT (mathematics, information, natural sciences and engineering) and health industries where talents are scarce, Germany is now very dependent on foreign professional and technical personnel. Many positions are occupied by immigrants. In 2017 alone, 38,000 professional and technical personnel from countries outside the European union emigrated to Germany. This data comes from a survey by the Bertelsmann Foundation.
1)Nursing professional
Nursing and health professionals find jobs easily in Germany. There is a lack of well-trained personnel in hospitals, nursing homes and other nursing facilities.
Prerequisites: Those who have received a nursing education in their own country can recognize their diplomas in Germany. The necessary conditions are suitable health conditions and knowledge of German. Different federal states have different requirements for German language level, either B2 or B1.
2)Engineer
The career prospects of engineers in the industrial country of Germany are the best and enjoy good income. Electronic engineering, construction engineering, machinery manufacturing and vehicle manufacturing companies are struggling to find professionals. People with college diplomas currently have job opportunities as halfway debuts. Digitalization has further increased demand in this regard.
Prerequisites: Who holds the foreign professional diploma is equivalent to the German diploma, then he can be recognized as an engineer or consulting engineer.
3)Science talents and information technology personnel
There are also bottlenecks in the MINT field, namely mathematics, informatics, natural sciences and engineering. Whether it is the private economy, or national research institutions such as the Max Planck Society and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Research Promotion, they provide scientific workers with positions in the above professional fields.
Prerequisites: In the Foreign Education Business Center (ZAB), MINT major university graduates can apply for the equivalent certification of their university diploma and German diploma.
